Description
This beautiful, gentle scene was photographed in a Pennsylvania water garden in mid August. It contains South American water platters with a flower in bloom in the background, a hardy waterlily in the foreground, and also lotus leaves, cattails and papyrus.....................................................................................
.....................................................................................................................
In late October the waters of the Atlantic Ocean devastated parts of the USA east coast. I've sent a modest donation to the Red Cross, along with my prayers for all. May we help as we are able. ................................................................

I am in your thrall, Byron! You're a Master. The low point of view on this one brings out the amazon saucer shapes of the lotus. I would like to view lotus some time, but NH must be out of their range.

Hi Byron.. Got news of your health 'challenge' via the Gold Standard Group email.. That's how I found your Wonderful Gallery of work.. This one in particular just 'floors' me.. How close to the water your camera was... Perfect. The light from the low right..the ripples, the dark & light contrasts.. Great work! The fabulous detail of the 'hairy veins & thorns' on the outside of the 'platter' & the smooth, shiny 'gentle' green inside...this is a fascinating creation! May your extraordinarily beautiful collection help you recover quickly .. And join us again with New Inspiration.. L/F

Beautiful composition Byron. Isn't it amazing how large these platters are. The wasp on the pad in the left foreground did not go un-noticed by me. A real bonus. Congratulations on your sale. This is amazing. F/V :)

What an absolutely gorgeous scene Byron! I love those plate lilies, I saw them in a documentary once, they grow really huge! Thanks for your comment on my Chickadee with verse, yes you are right, God does hear the thoughts of our heart, weather good or bad. Here are just a few verses on that subject. Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: Isaiah 66:18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. Matthew 9:4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 1 Corinthians 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Byron Varvarigos replied:
Thanks much, Debbie, glad you like. Yes, they can grow up to 5 ft in diameter. Wow, thanks for the verses, much to contemplate here! : )
