Description
An idyllic water garden scene, featuring hardy waterlilies with giant Amazonian waterlilies. The species shown in the pond are nymphaea, of the hardy variety, and victoria cruziana, a tropical plant. The 'platters' can grow up to five feet in diameter and support a hundred pounds; they are protected with needle-sharp spikes all over their outside surfaces; their flower buds and sepals are likewise protected from being eaten. This lovely tranquil image can produce a feeling of serenity in one who allows oneself to relax while gazing at it, a lovely way to meditate.
