Scheduled to have lumbar spinal fusion surgery next Monday, so it will probably be late May before I can be taking photos of flowers again. Thanks for your question, Jane. Many species do grow wild all over the northern Hemisphere, I read, but I shot this in a garden--might be my last before the surgery. : )

I always think of aquilegia as so delicate and not always immediatly noticed in gardens.This single bloom in delightful close up looks so strong and very noticeable!
