I love the structure and color of spiderworts!There are about 70 species of spiderwort - tradescantia - a plant native to the Americas. Named because it looked like a squatting spider to someone with influential opinions. : ) There are about 6,000 species of hoverflies around the planet, family name syrphidae, beneficial little guys who pollinate plants, being nectar-eaters, and whose larvae eat pest insects like aphids.
