Description
The striking Centaurea Montana is also known as mountain cornflower, mountain bluet, bachelor's button, perennial cornflower, mountain knapweed. A very hardy plant, it's native to South and Central Europe, and well established in North America as well as Northern Europe. While inedible, it is used medicinally in parts of Central Europe. The beautiful flowers attract insect pollinators, and bloom mainly from May through August, 2-3 inches across on stems 12-28 inches high. I love the beauty of nature and enjoy greatly wandering about taking pictures and sharing them. When engaged in viewing, there is only seeing, no seen or seer, and that is such a relief from the Im doing or Im thinking, etc. Getting lost in ones work may be finding oneself, and that is joy.
