Description
Beautiful female eastern tiger swallowtail, wings spread and trailing blue fire, nectaring from a lavender and white lacecap hydrangea. This is the first swallowtail I've had the opportunity to photograph this year, seem to be getting more and more scarce as years go by!

Oh I like this a lot. I have never seen this hydrangea before and this yellow tiger swallowtail is gorgeous with beautiful colors and markings.

Thrillingly beautiful Byron. How satisfying to photograph so wonderfully this amazing butterfly.Love how you have merged the dark greens in the background so as to enhance the exquisite clarity of butterfly and flower. v/f
Byron Varvarigos replied:
Dear Jane, thanks so much for your perceptive comment and support! It was a thrill to get this shot, and though I didn't modify the butterfly or flower, I did use PSE to modify the background so it would support the main subject rather than distract.
