Description
These radiant-petalled sunflowers are native to Eastern USA and among the last flowers to bloom in Autumn (helianthus maximiliani). A lovely burst of bright yellow for the cooling weather, and a feast for birds, the rhizomes are edible and can provide nourishment for humans.

A very beautiful capture of these welcomed florals of fall, Byron. Too bad there aren't any flowers coming through the snow this winter, but then there is always next spring to look forward to. This is very well done!
Byron Varvarigos replied:
Thank you much, Randy! No flowers coming through the snow?...Look for crocuses in February and March, you might be surprised...
