Description
This graceful bright green iris stalk with two gorgeous flowers was one of the winners at the May 18, 2013 iris show at Jenkins Arboretum, in Devon, Pennsylvania. "Mauve" is used to indicate quite a range of colors. Some folks say mauve when I say purple, but for me the tops of the petals are definitely 'mauve".^.^ The lower petals, sepals?, are even harder to describe, ranging from deep purple to an almost-black brown--and with whitish stripes, supporting bright yellow stamen. Wow! : ) Three more prize-winners of that day posted in my "Lily Iris Poppy" gallery. If you like this one, please take a look!
